Ocean Village Beach Resort opened in 1976 and, over the next thirty-odd years, didn't change much. In 2009, Ocean Village was acquired by a new ownership group headed by Robert Brown, a Tofino homeowner with twenty years experience in sustainable property development. In the coming years, you can expect lots of eco upgrades to the resort. We're excited to improve upon the things that make Ocean Village so special, while making it more sustainable in the process. Tucked away on magnificent MacKenzie Beach, Ocean Village Beach Resort is the Tofino area's original waterfront retreat. With direct beach access and the Pacific Rim wilderness at your fingertips, our rustic, self-contained cottages are the perfect affordable getaway for your family. Beyond our reputation as superb summer getaway location, the popularity of Ocean Village's winter season is swelling like the waves on our magnificent shores. With Tofino having established itself as a world class surfing destination, folks come from far and wide to tame our epic waves, or at least to watch them. Those who prefer to stay dry happily stick to the shore to marvel at dramatic storms, their cameras ready as they beg the ocean for a glimpse of a Sea Lion or a majestic whale. Some take soulful walks along a beach wonderfully framed by a lush rain forest. Whether you're conquering the sea or just admiring it, you'll have earned your spot by the fire at the end of the night, toasting marshmallows and sipping hot cocoa before retiring to your oceanfront cottage. Ocean Village offers direct access to MacKenzie Beach, a one-kilometer stretch of pristine shoreline on the northwest Pacific Ocean. As of 2010, Ocean Village is pet-friendly, so you don't have to leave your four legged friends at home for the family vacation anymore. After all, pets are part of the family too. And specially for man's best friend we have a doggy care package. Make sure to let us know ahead of time and we'll have a blanket, towel, bowls, doggy-bags and some treats waiting for you in your cottage. Ocean Village is just a few steps away from dog-friendly Mackenzie Beach - the ideal setting for some morning frisbee or an afternoon walk. Attention Tofino Community! To mark the occasion, new owners Robert Brown, Jason Gordon and Chris Nelson would like to welcome you to beautiful MacKenzie Beach for an open house and pool party. Please join us on Sunday, June 27 from 3-6 PM for an afternoon of swimming, BBQ, and scavenger hunts. Check out the upgrades we're making and let us know your thoughts. We are aiming to have the pool available to local residents by early fall of this year. Dogs now welcome! BBQ is by donation, with proceeds benefitting Raincoast Education Society and Surfrider.
